Sun., November 5 PJK regulary meeting at UU church 4-6 p.m.

Wed., November 15 Pizza and Jamal Nassar talk, titled "Focus on the Middle East: What the Future Holds for Kids" 5:30-7:30 p.m.

Mon., November 27 Yvonne Bezerra de Melo at Chiddix Junior High School 2-5 p.m.

(Maybe!) PJK dinner with Yvonne 5-7 p.m.

Film documentary "Warrior of Light" at the Normal Theater 7-9 p.m.

Fri., December 1 DRESS UP for opening night performance of "Hopeless Spinning" at ISU 7-10 p.m.

  3. What are people in Iraq doing to survive the violence and their nervousness and fear about being hurt from day to day? For example, how are civilians getting food? Water? What activities are they able to have day to day? What kinds of experience are kids able to have in school?
  4. Do families of soldiers get used to their loved one being gone? Do they get depressed?
  5. How and why do you think this war really started? What is the full story here?
  6. What do you predict our generation will have to pay for the Iraq War? Financially and otherwise?
  7. How is the United States' payback for Iraq going to be different from our payback after other wars?
  8. What can kids do to help the situation in the Middle East?
  9. How much longer do you think the Iraq War will go on? How do you think it will end?
  10. What do you think about whether the draft will be reinstated in the United States, partly as a result of this war?
  11. What do you think needs to happen to turn the Middle East situation into one that promotes unity, justice, and peace in the world?
  12. How far beyond the Middle East has the radical Islamist movement grown? What has caused it to grow? What are its goals? What can be done to influence the movement to give up its violent strategies?
  13. What are the real numbers-not the media numbers-of Iraqi people who have died since the United States began its occupation?
  14. What exactly is the United States government doing to support veterans of the Iraq War after they come home with injuries, disabilities, and illnesses?
  15. What can you teach us about our military's use of depleted uranium in Iraq?
  16. What might be the environmental implications of the Iraq War?
